The Realities Of White Oppression
The feedback received in my campaign against racism (White People Are Beautiful Too) never ceases to amaze me. One particular comment that caught my eye was the person who found my defence for the Caucasian race “disturbing” because I’m Chinese.
Is it disturbing when White defends Black? How about when William Wilberforce made it his personal agenda to abolish the African slave trade?
Defending someone requires empathy alone. There’s no such thing as “reverse racism”. Racism is racism, while socially accepted discrimination against Caucasians was created by none other than self-loathing White liberals as a deception. White oppression is real, but people are too afraid to speak up, rendering anti-Caucasianism harmless as it remains hidden. Calling someone “pale” or “pasty” and alongside with “frail” is racism. The same goes for making fun of a darker skinned person without the use of chocolate.
If the history card is to be played, isn’t it racism to call a Jew “frail and pasty”, considering their history of unspeakable turmoil within the walls of Nazi concentration camps?

This is a dangerous mindset. Not only does it imply that every member of the Caucasian race deserves prejudice, it lumps them together, including the Irish who were enslaved. Irish females were forced to be raped by African men to create more profit in the slave trade. Do they deserve a taste of said medicine?
History gives us the opportunity to better ourselves, not to repeat mistakes, but hypocrisy outweighs logic. While there are some who claim Whites aren’t the most oppressed, they contradict themselves by acknowledging them as the safest group to attack. This form of safety is the exact reason White oppression exists.
Even more mind-boggling is how Black women are actually defending the same liberals who deem the original African female unattractive. How often, if ever do we see a Black female with kinky hair in entertainment? Their nakedness is exploited in science and nature documentaries because black breasts are considered ugly and to resemble those of a monkey’s.
Almost every actress of colour is conformed to the standard that having light skin and delicate features is the only form of beauty. It causes insecurity amongst Black females, creating an environment of unpredictability that feeds into the deception promoting White oppression.
Insecurity as in (EbonyBarbie), “There were so many beautiful sexy colored women mostly black or latina, we happened to turn the page after seeing so many gorgeous women and happened to end up seeing a really pale white woman in purple undies. Let me just tell you, we were so turned off. It looked dead and unappealing.”
To further elaborate, we must take into account the comedic industry. Would Russell Peters be able to thrive on making racially discriminating jokes if he was Caucasian? Chris Rock discriminates against the Caucasian race time and time again, yet no one is publicly offended because racism against Whites is encouraged.
Either we abolish racism, or give everyone a free ticket to make fun of anyone of any race. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t go and call someone “cracker”, or “white trash” and get away with it, but yet you can…
Funny, how there are consequences to defending Whites and none with minorities. Making examples of their oppression is apparently racist because I’m generalizing? What the deluded fail to understand is the difference between the two because examples are evidence that racism exists, while generalization is a catalyst that yields hatred and more.
Generalizing is bringing up blood diamonds as a justifiable defence to suppress the truth. As Big_Esh very intelligently wrote, “Didn’t the word ‘bling’ come from black people? You know, the rich black rappers who wear ‘blood diamonds’ large enough to eat dinner off of?”
Affirmative action is a voluntary slap in the face to minorities who see no problem with its falsities. They’re agreeing to be intellectually inferior and that their sole reason for employment is skin colour. It’s hilarious how these hypocrites are racist against themselves.
As far as White boys are concerned, listen up. You’re neither frail nor pasty. Get that stinking weed out of your mouth and speak like you finished grade three. Stop jumping around like a bunch of crazed apes to that hip-hop gangster (c)rap and pull your pants up already. You look like you just soiled yourself!Get offended when you’re discriminated against, and stop taking insults like a doormat. Grow some balls and be the White man you were meant to be. Take a stand for your women because anything else makes you nothing more than a White boy.

I think we get into dangerous territory telling one single race to "stand up for themselves". Certain people can easily get that confused with "I'm better then everyone else". I mean given I know what that means and you know what that means. But in the hands of the wrong people it could get very messy and cross far too many boundaries. I mean I happen to have to deal with racists all the time and I openly tell them to shove socks in it. I am against the oppression towards white people too. But if put in the hands of any of the white racists I know they could carry that to a very far place.

I've found a number of articles that mention the treatment of indentured Irish servants in the New World, but no reputable source that I've found so far mentions a dedicated practise of black/Irish interbreeding by owners.
In fact, in Plantation Production and White "Proto-Slavery": White Indentured Servants and the Colonisation of the English West Indies, 1624-1645 by Hilary McD. Beckles (in The Americas, Vol. 41, No. 3 (Jan., 1985), pp. 21-45) the author specifically states that a difference between white indentured servants and black slaves was the attitude toward sexuality; that the black slaves, unlike the indentured servants, were considered to be of involuntary and self-reproductive status.

Many black women do not wear their hair kinky in entertainment business because it is easier for them to wear wigs and the constant wear and tear of getting your hair done for a black woman takes a lot of time. I mean look at Britney Spears hair... it looks terrible. Imagine that happening to Oprah, also their are so many black women entertainers do not conform to light skin and delicate features, some of them are born that way... Having someone call me "pasty" doesn't bother me. I know I'm blindingly white. I know you can see my veins through my skin. To me, it's just stating the obvious. No more different than someone saying to me, "You're really fucking tall!"

I think people need to understand that every 'race' has been oppressed at some point in human history. Its not like white people have oppressed every single other 'race' in our entire history.
And caucasian is such a blanket term...everyone tend to refer to themselves in other countries by their ethnic background, if your german, spanish(Spain), irish, british, czech, russian, italian, or ect...but over here we all get the 'white' designation.

I am amazed at the people who, as you mentioned, believe "we are getting a taste of our own medicine". We did not do those things in the past, we weren't even there.
Another thing that I am amazed by is the fact that so many people are unaware of the history behind some of this racism.
I was riding the bus a few years ago and an African American male decided to start ranting about how the White man this and the white man that, he has every opportunity and more than I do (as a white female) for furthering his education and status but he would rather sit back and blame someone than do it on his own.
I was finally so upset that I asked him if he realized that his own race had sold his ancestors into slavery and that almost every race has had some kind of atrocity or another. He finally calmed down (thank goodness).
Education goes a long way in opening peoples minds.

i really like your posts about white oppression. however, i can't agree with one point you made. you said "nakedness is exploited in science and nature documentaries because black breasts are considered ugly and to resemble those of a monkey’s." assuming your speaking strictly of documentaries and film where native africans or similar tribes are represented, i've never seen it that way. i was first introduced to the black breasts watching network tv with pops during the movie "zulu." i was quite surprised to see hundreds of near naked women dancing about with their breasts bouncing for everybody (including pops and my lil bro) to see. i said something about there being nude women on tv (not cable) and he said it was a depiction of history their lifestyle. he also mentioned that slaves were presented naked because they were considered animals. "you wouldn't put a dress on a goat, would you?" he said. so, i don't think they show topless women in documentaries because they are considered ugly, but because it depicts their lifestyle. i mean, really, there was nothing ugly about those young breasts inthe movie zulu, and lots of documentaries i've seen show bare breasted young women as well as the old mothers.

Yes, this. I can't find proof of this anywhere. There are plenty of historians who will admit that indentured Irish servants were shipped off to the New World, but nobody suggests that this idea of breeding them with black slaves is anything but a myth.

However, I would take being called pasty over being enslaved any way... It's all about choosing your battles, I think.
If I had to choose what ethnicity to defend at the moment, it would be the middle easterns- since, in america, people seem to profile them and judge them to have negative qualities. In my opinion, that discrimination needs to be worked on over 'white' discrimination.
I do feel you, though. My uni is 70% minorities, 30% white, and it's wonderful to be in such a diverse school: but I've been called "weak little white girl", "little white bitch", and I've been called racist just because I'm white. Kinda sucks. But again, I choose my battles.
Agreed! When we sit back and let racism of any kind happen, it doesn't mean it's ok just because we let it happen. No race is any more wrong than another. And on the flip side, no race is any more right. Who here can really say that they chose what race they are before they were born? If you think that, you are ignorant. None of us can be blamed for our race because it isn't our choice.
Also, about white people being viewed as "frail and pasty and dead", God created the body as a thing of beauty. All races are beautiful. Every individual person is beautiful because God created us this way as His supreme work of art. To you, I may look frail and pasty, but to God I am his masterpiece.
As far as I can tell, (my source being one of the dryest books ever inflicted on me by a class) racism came about in the US because one group, rich farmers who just happened to be "white" found the cheapest labor ever. I can't find any journal article about Irish indentured servants and slaves being forced to mate. Regardless slavery and "blackness" I guess weren't linked always, and that's especially true in the case of indentured servants. They were on pretty much equal footing as far as the people they were working for were concerned.
Slaves were better to farmers than indentured servants because owners got to keep them forever, and if they had babies they'd eventually pay for themselves. Indentured servants usually didn't make enough money to do much and many became "vagrants" and "troublemakers" because they had no jobs. There were a lot of fights between wealthy farmers and poor ones. And slaves, who were all by virtue of where they came from "black", served as a social leveler. All farmers were better off than slaves because they could choose to work... the black thing just reinforced that.
The point is, racism and power and money have always been linked. The people who reinforce the ideas are the people who really need things to stay the same so they can profit. Affirmative action is a fix of a symptom, not the problem, and it doesn't work. To be racist is to be lazy and manipulated. Racism serves no function. black and white should be used as physical visual descriptions not as leverage for one group against another.
So kudos Dear Ricky, cause I think that's what you were trying to say... only you have a flair for dramatics that I don't because I'm awkward.

Jennifer Hudson doesn't have light skin or delicate features and I think she is beautiful. I love pale skin and freckles too though and I loooove Asian hair and their yellow-based skin tone. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. They just have to embrace it and stop thinking they're better or not-as-good as others because of their racial background.

considered to be of involuntary and self-reproductive status.

@NikBv - It is indeed a fact, there was intentional and systematic inter-breeding of Black and White slaves to create a more workable mulatto stock. There was an enormous amount of Irish slaves sent to the West Indies...this is entirely where the Jamaican and Barbadian accents come from!
In French Lousiana as well, there was much mixing of Whites with African slaves...hence the Creole people. That meeting, also, is where Jazz comes from, it is NOT an entirely "African-American" invention...it is a largely African, and even more so, White European invention.
White slavery in the Americas is a complex and harrowing story, it is shocking and tragic that it is not more widely known, and that it is indeed, wantonly surpressed!
@S_K_O_T - Yes, you keep saying that, but nobody here can provide any concrete evidence that actually happened. One blog entry has been linked here half a dozen times as proof. That's all. If this actually happened, it's got to be mentioned in primary sources from the time (letters, documents, journals, records, etc) as well as in secondary sources from the past few decades (academic journal articles, monographs, etc). I'd love to see some of either of those two categories corroborate this. Until those are cited, though, I can't believe these claims.

I realise full well though that Ku Klux Klan had an entirely legimate reason for originally forming. Interestingly, although The Klan is now seen as being persona non grata, I've heard several reports about even Blacks going to live in what are known to be Klan run towns, because life is much more secure there.
Isn't the glib catch-phrase these days that "no-one is allowed to judge", that there is "no right or wrong"? Who is anyone then, going by that, to 'recognise' anyone or any group as anything? I understand that black people have been persecuted throughout history. So have white people, Asians, Hispanics, gays, women, and probably all other groups of people at some point in time. I, for one, am sick of people playing their race card. I don't go around asking people, "Is it because I'm gay?" when I don't get what I want out of them. Get over it, people.
